Weapons Systems
ITT's weapons systems technology provides military aircraft of US and allied nations with the ability to safely carry and release all stores such as weapons, external fuel tanks, and pods. ITT designs, develops and produces both the mechanical and electronic subsystems that ultimately comprise a system solution for a given manned or unmanned platform. Technology developed for these applications include our new pneumatic ejection system that provide the user with a safe, predictable, and virtually maintenance free approach to ejecting stores off high performance aircraft. Where "smart" weapons are employed, our interface electronics facilitate communication between aircraft and weapons’ computers such that multiple weapons can be individually addressed and targeted through a single connector.
ITT has produced over 22,000 designed ejector units over the past 45 years; currently designing and manufacturing S&RE for the next-generation fighter aircraft with products such as the AMRAAM Vertical Eject Launcher for the F-22 and pneumatic systems for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the P-8 and UAVs such as the MQ-9 Reaper and Mantis. ITT’s smart bomb rack product line includes BRU-57, BRU-55 and Enhanced Smart Triple Ejector Rack (ESTER). Other S&RE products include BRU-46/BRU-47, MXU-611/A, LMERU & HMERU and BRU-46 Mod.
Advanced Composite Structures
ITT's advanced composite structures capabilities provide the aerospace, defense, and commercial industries, total composite product development including conceptual design, prototype, testing, and rate production. We use the latest in filament winding, laminating, resin-transfer-molding (RTM), and autoclave cure processing for aerospace and other industrial/commercial applications.
ITT's composite design and fabrication expertise can be found on board many commercial platforms such as Boeing 737, 747, 757,767, 777; Airbus A300, 310, 330, 340, 380; and defense platforms like the A6F, C-17, F-14, F-15, E-2C, F-35 (JSF), JASSM, SMAW, RAH-66, and P-8A (MMA). Components and systems developed for these aircraft include tanks, wings, tails, control surfaces, doors, rotor blades, nacelles, and airframes. Additionally, ITT is a world leader in the development, fabrication, and installation of advanced composite pipe systems and is a global supplier to major oil and gas companies.
